The YWCA is ON A MISSION with the Spirit of American Women
Please join the YWCA of Syracuse and Onondaga County as we celebrate the Spirit of American Women with a series of virtual events on November 17-19. These events will highlight the ways the YWCA fulfills its mission in service of the women, girls, and families in our community.
On Tuesday, November 17 at 11:00 am, we will hold a virtual Women’s Residence Celebration, recognizing three of our residents who have shown exceptional resilience and personal achievement. The women in our residence inspire us, and they will inspire you, too.
Next, on Wednesday, November 18 at 4:00 pm, we will showcase the winner of our Girls, Inc. at YWCA summer program, Dream BuildHER, the YWCA’s unique program that provides girls ages 13-18 with a hands-on, learn-by-doing entrepreneurship experience in which they develop a start-up enterprise. Talk about inspiring!
Finally, we will wrap up the Spirit of American Women Celebration on the evening of Thursday, November 19, with a virtual social event hosted by Laura Serway, owner of the popular Laci’s Tapas Bar in Syracuse’s Hawley Green district. Laura’s warm hospitality will shine in any setting – even a remote one! – and her commitment to our community is, again, an inspiration to us all.
SAVE THE DATES and watch this space for additional details on these events. Join us and be inspired!
In the past, the Spirit of American Women gala provided significant resources for the YWCA of Syracuse and Onondaga County Inc., though the pandemic prevents us from gathering in person, we hope you will continue to support our important mission: eliminating racism and empowering women. You can make a one-time or sustaining gift at our secure giving site. Thank you!
