The YWCA is ON A MISSION with the Spirit of American Women

Join the YWCA of Syracuse and Onondaga County as we celebrate the Spirit of American Women on Thursday, November 18, from 5:30 – 7:30 PM at Drumlins Country Club.Spirit of American Women highlights the empowerment and accomplishments of women, girls, and families served through YWCA programs. It is also a fundraiser that showcases the power of individual philanthropy. This year’s Mistress of Ceremonies will be Iris St. Meran of WSYR-TV NewsChannel 9, and Christina Sauve, CEO of Cooperative Federal, will serve as our keynote speaker.Additionally, three women will be honored with the Spirit of American Women award, celebrating their efforts to positively impact our local community through volunteerism, altruism and advocacy, and STEM enrichment. These actions capture the YWCA’s mission of empowering girls and women and strengthen the fabric of our community by helping to advance opportunities for all.Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres and dessert, live speakers, and networking with peers. Tickets cost $75 each and are available through Thursday, November 11. For those unable to join us in-person, a virtual gala option is also available.Proceeds from the event support key YWCA programs and services such as:- Healthy youth and teen programming- Scholarships for children to attend YWCA summer camps- Science equipment for girls in our STEM workshops- Computer and job skills training- The Women’s Residence Program, which helps victims of domestic violence and homelessness in Syracuse get back on their feet and once again actively contribute to societyWe look forward to seeing on November 18 at Drumlins Country Club, located at 800 Nottingham Road in Syracuse, NY.
