Teen Program Manager

Part-Time | 25–30 hours/week | Some Saturdays required
Department: Youth Leadership & Development Programs (YLDP): Girls Inc. at YWCA Syracuse & Onondaga County
Reports to: Chief Development Officer

About the Role

The Girls Inc./Teen Program Manager provides leadership, program development, and implementation for youth programs throughout the year. This position focuses on creating safe, engaging, and empowering experiences for girls ages 13–18.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise teen programs at H.E.R. Space and summer/afterschool enrichment activities

  • Manage and mentor teen interns and program staff (paid and volunteer)

  • Develop, organize, and oversee program curriculum, events, and budget

  • Ensure compliance with Office of Children and Family Services regulations

  • Track participation, outcomes, and prepare grant-related reports

  • Build strong relationships with families and keep them informed

  • Represent YWCA and Girls Inc. at community events and trainings

Supervisory Duties

  • Directly supervise all afterschool and summer program staff

  • Provide staff training, scheduling, and coverage support

  • Address issues, resolve problems, and ensure positive program culture

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, recreation, psychology, or related field preferred

    or 5-10 years work experience in youth leadership.

  • Experience in youth work, program management, and staff supervision

  • Strong skills in communication, organization, and youth engagement

  • Ability to work with diverse populations and foster inclusive environments

  • Valid NYS driver’s license required
